MII is a proud supporter of SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student to excel. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations and for further education. SkillsUSA was formerly known as VICA (the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
The state contest will be April 25 and 26. The Masonry Contest will be Friday, April 26 at the Dallas Co. Fairgrounds. For more info on how to register for state, visit https://skillsusaiowa.org/. Registration is open thru March 1
2018 State Masonry Contest Results
MII is pleased to be associated with SkillsUSA Iowa Chapter. This year that five high school students signed up and four participated during the state competition on Friday, April 27 at the Dallas Co. Fairgrounds in Adel.
The contest included a 25 question written test and the building of a masonry wall. Judging then judged entries based on pre-determined criteria. Winners are listed below.
1st Place: Jordan, Belmond-Klemme HS
2nd Place: Karter, Belmond-Klemme HS
3rd Place: TJ, Perry HS
4th Place: Tyson, Belmond-Klemme HS
